Does MEAN GIRLS work as movie a musical?

We all love the original MEAN GIRLS — it’s a comedy classic — but does it work as a musical? It’s now streaming so we figured we’d dive into Tina Fey’s updated version. Does it work?

Is DUNE: PART TWO a sci-fi masterpiece? Reviewing Dune 2

One of us called it “epic.” Another called it “a masterpiece.” What is DUNE: PART TWO? Whatever it is, it’s damn good and could be one of the rare examples of a sequel being better than its original.

  • This is why BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE is the first great movie of 2024…

This is why BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE is the first great movie of 2024…

Very few artists are in the “please don’t imitate” category. Bob Marley is one of those. Despite that, Kingsley Ben-Adir does the impossible… he’s spectacular as Bob Marley. Not to be outdone, Lashana Lynch is award-worthy as Rita and BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE is clearly the first great film of 2024.

DUNE: PART TWO is a feast for the eyes

Even if you’re not a fan of the sci-fi genre, DUNE: PART TWO effortlessly transports you to another place and time and, quite frankly, isn’t that the goal?

Please Sony, stop doing making movies like MADAME WEB…

On this episode, we tackle the film that is MADAME WEB, starring Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim (kind of), Mike Epps (for like 47 total seconds), Emma Roberts and Adam Scott’s monotone acting choice. • Well… at least it was better than Aquaman 2

Well… at least it was better than Aquaman 2

The writing is never top notch but, in the final 15 minutes, it’s almost as if they turned the script over to a middle schooler who won a contest to help pen a superhero screenplay.

ORDINARY ANGELS director ‘forever grateful’ to Taylor Swift for bumping his movie

“I’m really grateful to her because we also were in the midst of an actor strike so we weren’t able to do press with our actors. And, when you have a two-time Oscar winner like Hilary and when you have Alan Ritchson on your cast, you want them to be able to do press.”

‘One Love’ Celebrates Marley’s Legacy, Despite Flashback Fumbles

One Love remains a commendable cinematic tribute to a cultural icon. For fans of Marley, this snapshot of his life is sure to resonate, earning it a solid 7 out of 10. Though flawed, One Love succeeds in capturing the essence of a man whose legacy continues to transcend time.

ONE LOVE is the first great film of 2024

Think about how easy it would’ve been to screw up the lead role. Marley is universally adored, his music is universally loved and his message is universally needed. Those are massive shoes to fill but Ben-Adir does the unthinkable and is spectacular.

ARGYLLE is so fun… until it’s not

ARGYLLE has had a disappointing box office showing and is disappointing audiences because of its strong, fun and curious beginning giving way to an over-complicated script about halfway through. The cast is excellent, the story starts so promising but then… yeah. Plus, we name our favorite character in a spy film or show.
